2023 Firefighter Sean Tallon Memorial Gaelic Sports Tournament

Every year it is our honor to be the sole sponsor of the Firefighter Sean Tallon Memorial Gaelic Sports Tournament. It's a special day to honor and remember Sean and one filled with the joy of children playing the games they love. It's also a day when we come together with the Irish-American community to demonstrate our motto of Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity.

This year's tournament at Rockland GAA Field was another success with over 30 GAA Minor Board under age 8 teams from the tri-state area participating. Thank you to the families, friends, and the GAA Minor Board for your continued support of this important event.

Sean Patrick Tallon was 26, a Marine reservist completing his first probationary year with the New York City Fire Department. He was assigned to Ladder Company 10 (“Ten House”) directly across the street from the World Trade Center’s twin towers. The only son of Irish immigrants, he was among the first to respond to the attack on our nation on September 11‚ 2001 and made the ultimate sacrifice while trying to save others. May Sean Rest in Eternal Peace. We will never forget him.
