Our Hibernian Brother Brendan Murphy passed away December 19, 2018 at the age of 75, but his memory and legacy lives on in our annual Brendan Murphy Memorial Communion Mass and Brunch.
Brendan was a lifelong Yonkers resident and a Division One Hibernian for over 40 years. Among his Hibernian Brothers, he was known for his attention to detail, humble nature and love of baseball, having visiting nearly every professional stadium. For 20 years he took great pride serving as the annual Communion Mass and Brunch Committee Chairman and always made sure each year's event was a success.
Brendan was a graduate of Fordham Prep and Fordham University and retired Lt. Col. US Army. He was also an active member of the Yonkers Saint Patrick Day Parade Committee. Brendan was the son of the late Timothy J. and Catherine G. (nee Gopfert) Murphy and brother of Janet L. Murphy.
